BOISE, Idaho – Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty has produced historic numbers in six games and the national media is taking notice. Various outlets named the junior to their Midseason All-America teams, with the HEI2MAN candidate earning recognition from the Associated Press, The Athletic, Athlon Sports, CBS Sports, Pro Football Focus and Sporting News. He was unanimously selected by the AP and CBS Sports.

The junior currently leads the FBS in nearly every rushing category, including yards (1,248), yards per game (208.0), yards per carry (9.9), touchdowns (17) and yards after contact (914). He also leads the country in total touchdowns (18), total points scored (108), all-purpose yards (1,287), all-purpose yards per game (214.5) and missed tackles forced (58).

The powerful tailback has established himself as the nation's top tackle-breaker. His 914 yards after contact are more than the rushing yards total of all but one FBS player, Iowa's Kaleb Johnson (937). The HEI2MAN candidate has more rushing yards than 106 FBS teams and only 14 FBS teams have more rushing touchdowns than him, including three that have played seven games.

Jeanty started the season by running for a school-record 267 yards and six touchdowns in Boise State's 56-45 win over Georgia Southern. The following week, he tallied a 192-yard, three-touchdown performance at then-No. 7/6 Oregon. This was Boise State's lone loss of the year, with the now-No. 2/2 Ducks kicking a field goal as time expired. Against Portland State, he tallied 127 rushing yards on 11 attempts before sitting the second half of Boise State's 56-24 victory.

Boise State entered the Sept. 28 game against Washington State ranked 25th in the AP Poll and capitalized on the ranking with a 45-24 victory. Jeanty dominated, running for 259 yards and four touchdowns. He recorded 233 yards after contact, tying the third-highest single-game total of the College Football Playoff era (since 2014). He also forced 18 missed tackles, running for touchdowns of 64 and 59 yards.

On Oct. 5, the Lone Star (Texas) HS product compiled 186 yards and three touchdowns against Utah State, leading the Broncos to a 62-30 triumph in the conference opener. This included a 75-yard touchdown, which gave him the Mountain West record for most 70+ yard touchdown runs in a season (4). Once again, he sat the entire second half.

Last weekend, Jeanty carried the ball a season-high 31 times, powering his way to 217 yards and one touchdown while catching three passes for 20 yards and a touchdown. Boise State moved to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the MW with a 28-7 win over Hawai'i. His 54-yard score in the first quarter marked his ninth 50+ yard rush of the season. No single FBS team has more than eight total offensive plays gaining 50 or more yards.

Jeanty has earned MW Offensive Player of the Week five times and Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week three times this season. He holds the Boise State career record for 200-yard rushing games (5) and is tied for the school record in consecutive 100-yard rushing games (6) and career 200-yard all-purpose games (8).

Boise State has a weekend off before returning to action in Las Vegas on Oct. 25. The No. 15/19 Broncos will travel to UNLV for a crucial MW showdown. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. MT.

Led by Spencer Danielson in his first full season, Boise State looks to become the first Mountain West program to win back-to-back championships since San Diego State did so in 2015-16. Achieving such a feat will put Boise State in the discussion for the new, expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff format beginning this fall. Last year, Danielson became the first coach in college football history to win a conference championship with an interim title.
