Seven Broncos Featured on East-West Bowl 1000

BOISE, Idaho – Seven Boise State Broncos are featured on the 2026 Shriners Children's East-West Bowl 1000, the organization announced. Roger Carreon, Maddux Madsen, Daylon Metoyer, Jaden Mickey, Jayden Virgin-Morgan, Matt Wagner and JeRico Washington Jr. were recognized on the list, which is the Shrine Bowl's collection of the country's top draft-eligible players. Boise State's seven selections are the most among Pac-12 institutions.
Carreon has played 35 games as a Bronco, making 27 starts. The offensive lineman earned All-Mountain West honorable mention in 2025, appearing in all 14 contests and paving the way for an offense that gained over 500 yards in five different games. He did not allow any sacks in 2024, helping Boise State rank 12th in the nation in sacks allowed per game. As a redshirt freshman in 2023, he saw action in all 14 games, blocking for a rushing attack that ranked sixth in the FBS with 214.9 yards per game.
Madsen enters his fifth season at Boise State with 6,586 passing yards, 507 completions and 50 touchdowns in his career, ranking eighth in school history in all three categories. He led the Broncos to a third-straight MW title in 2025, winning Offensive MVP after totaling 299 yards and four touchdowns. In 2024, he threw for 3,018 yards and 23 touchdowns, earning All-MW honorable mention. The quarterback was tabbed Preseason All-Pac-12 second team by Phil Steele and Athlon Sports.
Metoyer started 13 games at right tackle in 2025, ranking second on the team with 908 offensive snaps. He limited opponents to one sack in 458 opportunities and paved the way for an offense that ranked 24th in the nation with 424.0 yards per game. He appeared in six games in 2024, a season which saw the Blue and Orange average 37.3 points per game, fifth-most in the country. The redshirt senior was named Preseason All-Pac-12 by Phil Steele (first team) and Athlon Sports (second team).
Mickey played in 13 games in 2025, starting 11 in his first year with the Broncos. The defensive back finished the season with 38 tackles, including 32 solo and seven for loss. He added a solo sack and five passes defended, as well as two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He transferred to Boise State after three seasons at Notre Dame, where he tallied 23 tackles and an interception in 23 games. He was named Preseason All-Pac-12 first team by Phil Steele and Athlon Sports.
Virgin-Morgan has played in 41 games for Boise State, recording 120 tackles, including 31.0 for loss. He has 16.0 sacks in his career, tied for 15th in program history. He is a two-time All-MW selection, garnering first team honors in 2024 after ranking second in the league with 10.0 sacks and third in the conference with 15.5 TFLs. The EDGE has forced three fumbles and recovered four in his career. He secured Preseason All-America fourth team recognition from Athlon Sports, as well as Preseason All-Pac-12 first team selection from Phil Steele.

He has 34 receptions for 359 yards and one touchdown in his career, logging a career-best five catches for 69 yards at Utah State in 2025. The redshirt junior also contributed as a blocker, helping the Broncos average 179.1 rushing yards per game, including four contests with over 275 yards. A native of Prosper, Texas, Wagner earned Preseason All-Pac-12 honors from Athlon Sports (second team) and Phil Steele (third team).
