Opportunity to learn how to build brand partnerships and grow audience on social platforms
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State's Brooke Patterson, a member of the women's golf team and Eagle native, was selected as one of 100 NCAA female student-athletes to participate in the NCAA x Meta Empowerment Program, a collaboration that will help maximize their name, image and likeness endeavors throughout their time as college athletes. Each student-athlete was selected based on an application submission as well as external factors like marketability, diversity, and potential to accomplish their goals, both on and off the field.
"NIL has been a great way for me to get more involved in the community," said Patterson. "Building partnerships with companies has taught me so much when it comes to content creation, career development and more. Not to mention, I have created a personal brand on social media through this, where I can showcase my personality and accolades in hopes that companies will want to work with me. I am very grateful that I decided to capitalize on my role as a student-athlete through name, image, and likeness!"
The program will include education on building a community, using social media safety resources and preparing for the future. Corporate partner Invesco QQQ will assist the NCAA in building a financial literacy and career development session.
Led by the Meta Sports Partnerships team, the program focuses on women athletes, striving to provide equity and level the playing field for women in the NIL era.
