Boise State Athletics Shares Bronco Football Gameday Guide for Bronco Nation

9/7/2026 1:50:00 PM | Football, General, Bronco Athletic Association

Traditional activities and the Ford Fan Zone will add to gameday atmosphere

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State football will play its 2026 home opener on Saturday, September 12 and Bronco Nation has a lot to look forward to as part of their return to Albertsons Stadium.

Back again are the Ford Fan Zone on DeChevrieux Field, the Keith and Catherine Stein Blue Thunder Marching Band, Bourbon, Bronco Girl, and the Bronco Walk.

The Ford Fan Zone located on the Hall of Fame Plaza and inside DeChevrieux Field is free to everyone and includes the Kids Zone sponsored by Regence BlueShield of Idaho, with room for kids to play, including the yard games corn hole and spike ball, hassle-free tailgating, photo stations with Bronco themed-backdrops, and more. Fans can also reserve their own private tailgate location now by visiting Boise State Tailgate.

The free, public space will be open along a section of Bronco Lane between DeChevrieux Field and the Larry and Marianne Williams Plaza beginning four hours prior to kickoff of each Bronco home game.

New this year is a custom-designed sticker inspired by each theme of the game. Fans can pick up their "Sticker of the Game" in the Ford Fan Zone before each home game. Limit one per person, while supplies last.

Prior to home games, the Bronco football team will take part in the Bronco Walk from the Student Union Building to Albertsons Stadium. The Bronco Walk begins two hours and forty-five minutes prior to kickoff at each home game.

With over 160 members, the Keith and Catherine Stein Blue Thunder Marching Band are an integral part of Bronco gameday, now in their 40th season.

Now entering her eighth year, Cathy Jo Ayotte, aka Bronco Girl, is bringing a new Bronco to lead the Boise State football team onto The Blue. Pleaser is an 18-year-old American quarter horse and weighs over 1000 pounds.

Bourbon takes over as Boise State's official Tee Dog, presented by Western States CAT, following her brother's retirement last season.

The Blue Chaos Flag, presented by First Federal Bank, makes its return to the North End Zone via a new raised platform that sits just west of the First Federal Bank Foothills Club.

Immediately following the coin toss, a Bronco legend will raise the flag and invite Bronco Nation to bring the "chaos" by achieving a noise level of 100 decibels or more to signal that Bronco Nation is ready to go. Since its introduction in 2022, the Blue Chaos Flag has become one of Albertsons Stadium's most meaningful traditions, recognizing former student-athletes, distinguished alumni and community leaders who embody the spirit of Bronco Nation.

The 2nd Quarter Club will open at the break between the first and second quarter and is located in the Hall of Fame, at the southwest corner of Albertsons Stadium. Club members will have the option to enjoy the game from the outdoor patio that will feature high-top tables and heaters or in the climate-controlled interior to watch the game on a new 38 square feet video wall. Only 250 passes will be available for each game and are available as an add-on to the game ticket. Fans can purchase access to the 2nd Quarter Club here.
