Bronco running back recognized by conference for sixth time this season
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State junior Ashton Jeanty was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for the sixth time this season, the conference announced. The tailback ran for 209 yards and three touchdowns on a career-high 34 carries, leading the Broncos to a 28-21 victory over Nevada.
Jeanty totaled 122 yards after contact and forced eight missed tackles. He recorded 13 first downs and had a long rush of 46 yards. This season, the HEI2MAN candidate has more rushes of 20+ yards (17) than rushes for a loss (14). This was his third 200-yard, three-touchdown effort of the year, tying for the third-most in the FBS since 1996.
Jeanty currently has 1,734 rushing yards and 23 rushing touchdowns, leading the nation in both categories. He averages 140.9 yards after contact per game, more than the total rushing yards average of any FBS player. He is the first MW player to earn Offensive Player of the Week six times in a season since Rashaad Penny (San Diego State, 2017).
No. 12 Boise State (8-1, 5-0 MW) will travel to San José State (6-3, 3-2 MW) for a MW contest on Nov. 16. The Broncos and Spartans will kick off at 5 p.m. MT with the game airing on CBS Sports Network.

Led by Spencer Danielson in his first full season, Boise State looks to become the first Mountain West program to win back-to-back championships since San Diego State did so in 2015-16. Achieving such a feat will put Boise State in the discussion for the new, expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff format beginning this fall. Last year, Danielson became the first coach in college football history to win a conference championship with an interim title.
