BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Hall of Famer and NFL All-Pro offensive tackle Ryan Clady will return to Albertsons Stadium to raise the Blue Chaos flag before the Broncos' Pac-12 opener against Utah State on Saturday, Oct. 3.

Clady was the first consensus All-American in Boise State history, securing first team honors from the American Football Coaches Association and Sporting News and second team honors from the Associated Press and Walter Camp Football Foundation in 2007. He was named second team All-America by Sports Illustrated in 2006 after helping the Broncos finish 13-0 and cap the season with a Fiesta Bowl win. He was a three-time All-WAC selection, helping the Broncos to a pair of conference titles and a 32-7 record in that span.

"It's amazing. I haven't been back to Boise in a few years now, so it's special to be able to do this new tradition. There are quite a few guys that can take this honor as well, but I'm glad they chose me," Clady said.

The Rialto, California, native was selected 12th overall by the Denver Broncos in 2008, the first time a Boise State player was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. He spent seven seasons in Denver, starting all 98 games in which he appeared. He was named First Team All-Pro in 2009 and 2012, adding Pro Bowl selections in those two seasons and 2011. He was a member of Denver's 2015 squad that won Super Bowl 50 and closed his career with the New York Jets, retiring in 2017 after 107 career games. In 2024, he was inducted into the Boise State Hall of Fame.

On Saturday, Boise State will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the program's first Fiesta Bowl victory, a 43-42 overtime thriller over Oklahoma that remains one of the most famous games in college football history. Clady started at left tackle and had a key block on the iconic Statue of Liberty play that gave the Broncos the win.

"I'm excited to hang out with the guys. That's one of the best parts about Boise State. It's a special brotherhood and I'm excited to get back," he said.

Boise State is also celebrating Homecoming and Parent and Family Weekend ahead of the team's first conference game as a member of the Pac-12. The Broncos and Aggies kick off at 5:30 p.m. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
