
Broncos Overpower Corban with 100-65 Victory

BOISE, Idaho — Six Broncos reached double-digits in scoring, led by Javan Buchanan with 16 points, as Boise State returned to the win column with a 100-65 victory over Corban on Tuesday night at ExtraMile Arena.Â
The Broncos (2-1) scored 68 points inside the paint, while their defense forced Corban (1-3) into 14 turnovers. Forwards O'Mar Stanley and Dylan Anderson controlled the interior as they had 15 and 14 points, respectively. Stanley also added 13 rebounds to register a double-double while Anderson had five boards.
Emmanuel Ugbo had a career-high 13 points off the bench along with eight rebounds.
Tyson Degenhart and Andrew Meadow scored 11 points each. Degenhart was a perfect 4-of-4 shooting and 3-of-3 at the free throw line.
The Broncos shot 61.9% from the field, which was its best shooting performance a game since Feb. 2022 (at Air Force, 68.8%), as they converted 39 of 63 attempts and recorded 45 rebounds to Corban's 24.
Corban's Spivey Word scored a game-high 32 points on 14-of-25 shooting.
Early on, the game was a tight contest until Julian Bowie with a lay-up eight minutes into the game helped lift Boise State to an 11-3 run. The Broncos opened up a nine-point advantage when Ugbo put back a second-chance opportunity that made it 25-16.

Corban closed it to a five-point game at 25-20 with 8:38 to go in the first half, but the Broncos gave themselves a double-digit lead for the first time at 32-22 with 6:06 left and never allowed the Warriors to come within 11 for the remainder of the game.

Boise State went into halftime with a 50-29 lead, shooting 61.3% in the first half, and then led by as much as 38 points in the second half. The Broncos shot 62.5% (20-of-32) in the final period.
Boise State continues its brief homestand with a matchup against Clemson, who made the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament a year ago, on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 11:30 a.m.
