Boise State Signs Five Student-Athletes

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State announced the addition of five players as part of its 2025 recruiting class, head coach Gordy Presnell announced on Wednesday.

Mason Borcherding, Kenna Garza, Izzie Harms, Morgan Maldonado and Keirra Thompson all announced their intention to attend Boise State and will join the Broncos on campus prior to the start of the 2025-26 academic year. 

"I'm really excited about this recruiting class," Presnell said. "These are team-first kids that will excel at Boise State both on and off the court. We're really looking forward to what they'll bring in their four years here. I feel so excited about this group and think they're going to do some really great things at Boise State."

Mason Borcherding
 

Borcherding joins the program from Legend High School in Parker, Colorado. A 6-1 forward, Borcherding led Legend to a semifinal appearance in the CHSAA 6A State Tournament a year ago, scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds in the contest. She led the team in scoring and rebounding as a junior, averaging 12.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. She also played soccer for the Titans as a defender.

Kenna Garza
 

A 6-2 center, Garza joins the program from Pocatello High School in Pocatello, Idaho, where she led the Thunder to back-to-back district championships. Last season, she averaged 17.6 points, 12.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game and was named second team all-state. She has recorded over 1,000 points in her career. She is a multi-sport athlete, having also played volleyball.

Izzie Harms
 

A product of Willamette High School in Eugene, Oregon, Harms led the Wolverines to back-to-back top five finishes in the state tournament and a 41-17 record over the past two seasons. A 6-1 forward, she garnered all-state honorable-mention honors as a junior after averaging 18.6 points per game. She played club basketball for the Cal Stars, the same program that produced current Bronco players Abby Muse and Natalie Pasco.

Morgan Maldonado
 

Maldonado joins the program from Mountain City Christian Academy in Anchorage, Alaska, leading her team to back-to-back championships. A 5-9 guard, she has collected first team all-state and first team all-region honors in each of the past two seasons. She averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 3.9 steals as a junior.

Keirra Thompson
 

Thompson joins the Broncos from Camas High School in Camas, Washington. A 5-8 point guard, Thompson led the Papermakers to a Class 4A Championship, collecting first-team all-state and second-team all-tournament accolades. She shattered the Camas High School record in assists, breaking the single-season record with 191 and the career record with 471 entering her senior season.
