Department embraces innovation to remain competitive in changing college athletics landscape

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Athletics is partnering with the Boise State University Foundation to create BroncoPRO (Professional Resources Organization), a turnkey NIL and revenue-sharing services entity established for Bronco student-athletes. BroncoPRO, a planned stand-alone subsidiary within the Boise State University Foundation, will align with Boise State's strategy to drive competitive excellence through a best-in-class revenue-sharing model focused on recruiting and retaining student-athletes while providing custom brand development services.

"Boise State has always been on the forefront of innovation in our enterprise and BroncoPRO is the next iteration of What's Next in the changing landscape of college athletics," said Jeramiah Dickey, Boise State Director of Athletics. "BroncoPRO will support all Boise State student-athletes in the new era of revenue-sharing and we are grateful for the Foundation and University's support as we have actively built this concept over the last several months. We have championship expectations in all of our sports and BroncoPRO will help us continue to compete for championships in the years ahead."

In addition to future group and individual licensing opportunities, BroncoPRO will partner with Boise State Athletics to offer NIL and BroncoLife programming for all Bronco student-athletes. The organization will adopt NIL services already in place as part of the department's in-house agency and will centralize its nationally recognized NIL program under the BroncoPRO brand.

"We are excited to support the vision of BroncoPRO becoming a one-stop shop for revenue-sharing, authentic NIL services, and brand enhancement programming," said Argia Beristain, Interim CEO of the Boise State University Foundation. "We look forward to strengthening our partnership with Athletics to offer every Boise State student-athlete the opportunity to become a BroncoPRO athlete, and I would like to thank our Foundation board members for their commitment to supporting Bronco Athletics in this way."

Professional (Franchise)

Similar to the structure of a professional front office, BroncoPRO will identify, recruit and retain executive leaders to manage the overall financial compensation package associated with each individual student-athlete's competitive market value.

Leadership will also be responsible for roster and cap management, evaluation and planning workflow with recruiting staff, and will serve as the agency for all student-athlete NIL opportunities, to include revenue-sharing agreements.

Boise State has recently expanded its partnership with Teamworks which includes General Manager (GM), a comprehensive software solution for roster planning, scholarship allocations, roster management, scenario analysis and management of total student-athlete earnings. GM provides the software to build a competitive team by strategically allocating funds to attract and retain student-athletes.

Resources (Revenue)

BroncoPRO will develop new revenue generation strategies and will serve as a landing spot for future private funding opportunities. BroncoPRO will also aggressively evaluate alternative liquidity and investment solutions intended to drive support for Boise State Athletics. The athletic department will work closely with BroncoPRO to generate support for student-athlete licensing agreements in each of the department's 18 sport programs.

Organization (Centralized Student-Athlete Services)

As part of its recent extension of a partnership with multi-media rights partner Learfield, Boise State will welcome a new Learfield Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) dedicated expert on campus who will help to maximize student-athlete NIL opportunities. The on-site NIL position will work with existing staff as part of the department's in-house agency tasked with generating incremental NIL revenue, activating NIL sponsorships, and educating student-athletes on NIL opportunities. BroncoPRO will utilize the services of Boise State's BroncoLife program to provide brand enhancement and financial education programming to develop the holistic student-athlete in preparation for life beyond Boise State.

Pending the final approval of the House settlement in the spring of 2025 Boise State anticipates sharing revenue with its student-athletes consistent with the final terms of settlement. Boise State will continue to partner with the Horseshoe Collective to raise awareness for local charitable causes by pairing it with community-minded Boise State student-athletes.
