COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West released its postseason honors for volleyball Tuesday morning; among those honored was Kiki Remensperger, who has been named the MW Volleyball Freshman of the Year. In addition, senior Paige Bartsch was named All-MW, while Remensperger and sixth-year Annie Kaminski received All-MW Honorable Mention accolades.
Â
Remensperger's freshman of the year honor made her the fourth Bronco in the last seven years to receive the recognition. Since joining the league for the 2011 season, Boise State has had five conference freshman of the year winners, no other program has had more than two during that period.
Â
The native of San Diego, California was named the MW Freshman of the Week four times and MW Defensive Player of the Week once during the season. She played in all 28 matches and started 19. The setter/outside hitter recorded 102 kills, a team-high 554 assists, 34 service aces, 304 digs, 34 blocks and 153 points.
Â
Remensperger became the first Bronco since 2011 to record a triple-double finishing with two of the program's five during the rally scoring era. In addition, she led the team with 12 double-doubles (including the two triple-doubles) and had three rare 20/20 double-doubles with 20-plus assists and digs; there had been only one other during the rally scoring era (since 2001).Â
Â
Bartsch is a three-time All-MW honoree earning the honor each of the last three years. She was the 2021 MW Freshman of the Year and the 2023 MW Co-Player of the Year.
Â
This fall, Bartsch led the team in kills with 394, kills per set at 3.75, points with 476.5 and points per set at 4.54. She was tied for the lead for service aces with 44 and aces per set at 0.43. She was ranked fifth in the MW for kills, fourth for kills per set, tied for second in service aces, tied for third in aces per set, fifth in total points and fourth for points per set.
Â
Bartsch is ranked third all-time at Boise State for career points 1,776.5 and kills with 1,495, and seventh for career service aces 135. She owns the school season records for kills, kills per set, points, and points per set. Her school record for kills in a season of 530, set in 2023, ranks second in Mountain West history, while her 2023 point total of 614 ranks fourth all-time in league history.
Â
This is the second time that Kaminski has been named honorable-mention All-MW. She earned the same recognition in 2022 and was also a 2023 All-MW honoree. The native of Bellevue, Idaho, finished the regular season ranked seventh in the MW for blocks with 118, eighth for blocks per set at 1.12 and 10th in hitting percentage at .336. She is currently ranked third all-time for hitting percentage at .353, and 10th all-time in total blocks with 366.
Â
The Bronco trio will lead the Boise State volleyball team at this week's MW Championship in Las Vegas starting Wednesday against the Utah State Aggies at 5 p.m. (Mountain).
