Maxwell Award winner the AP’s only unanimous pick this season
BOISE, Idaho – Ashton Jeanty added to his list of All-America accolades, securing unanimous first team honors from the Associated Press. He was the lone unanimous selection this season. This is the second-consecutive season he has been recognized by the AP. Jeanty earned second team honors as an all-purpose player in 2023.
Jeanty is the nation's best running back, leading all FBS players in rushing attempts (344) and yards (2,497) while tying for the national lead in touchdowns (29). He set College Football Playoff-era records for yards after contact (1,889) and missed tackles forced (143) while becoming the first player since 1996 to rush for over 125 yards in 13-straight games.
The team captain holds Boise State's career rushing records for yards (4,665), 200-yard games (8) and 100-yard games (21). His 2024 rushing averages of 7.3 yards per carry and 192.1 yards per game are school records, as are his career rushing averages of 6.5 yards per carry and 119.6 yards per game.
Jeanty is the first Bronco to be named an All-American running back by the AP since Jay Ajayi, who was tabbed third team in 2014. He is the first Boise State player to earn first team honors since defensive end Joe O'Brien (1994). The last Bronco to earn first team honors on offense was quarterback Joe Aliotti (1979).
