BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's tennis lost a close match to Minnesota 5-2 at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center, Sunday morning.

The Broncos (2-4) took an early lead over the Golden Gophers (7-1), starting with a 6-2 victory on court two as Pauline Ernstberger and Shauna Heffernan defeated Mia Liepert and Sofia Pinto. Minnesota then claimed the next victory on court two to even the score.

Nicole Discenza and Lorelyz Marruffo took an impressive win on court one against Emma Belluomini and Anali Kocevar, rallying back from a two-game deficit to take the match into a tiebreak. The pair ultimately won the match 7-6(2) to clinch the doubles point.

Discenza continued her dominance, claiming the first singles victory for the Broncos by defeating Pinto 6-2, 6-2 on court five. Minnesota fought back and won on courts one, three, four and six to clinch the victory.
