
Senior Trio Receives MW Weekly Accolades

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Seniors Courtney Blackson, Emily Lopez and Adriana Popp each received Mountain West Specialist of the Week accolades following their performances in the Broncos' victories over Sacramento State and Southern Utah on Feb. 16.
Blackson earned Floor Specialist of the Week, ÂÂÂmatching her career-high and the program record on the apparatus after finishing with a 9.950. This was her second victory of the season on floor, fourth of her career, and her fifth weekly conference honor in 2024, 13th of her career.
Lopez was named the Bars Specialist of the Week for the fifth time this season after tying her season-high score of 9.950 on the apparatus, as well as the Vault Specialist of the Week after scoring a season-best 9.900 and finishing second. She recorded her fourth win of the year on bars, extending her career total to 11 with six total wins this season and 22 in her career, both team-bests. This marks her 21st and 22nd career weekly conference honors, a team-high.
Popp was tabbed the Beam Specialist of the Week for the first time in the 2024 campaign, matching her career-best with a score of 9.950. Her beam score tied for fourth in program history, marking her first event win of the year. The Easton, Pa., native now has 13 career victories, including 10 on beam, and seven career weekly conference awards.
The Broncos will return to action for a quad meet against conference rival Utah State and nonconference opponents No. 29 Iowa State and Texas Woman's on Friday, Feb. 23, in Logan, Utah at 7 p.m.
