Groves Bats Way to Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State sophomore infielder Sydney Groves was named Boise State Ford Student-Athlete of the Week, Wednesday.

Earlier in the week, she captured the first Mountain West Player of the Week award in her career.

The Meridian, Idaho native batted .500 (7-for-14) during the Maverick Invitational in Arlington, Texas and led the Broncos to a 4-1 record.

She collected two doubles, three home runs and four walks for a .611 on-base percentage, 1.286 slugging percentage and 1.897 OPS.

Groves drove in 13 runs, including tying a school single-game record with eight against DePaul, Feb. 17.
