Courtney Blackson Named Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week

BOISE, Idaho – Courtney Blackson, a senior on the Boise State gymnastics team, has been named the Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week.
Blackson scored a 9.950 on floor, finishing first and tying the program record. It was the 26th time a Boise State gymnast tallied a 9.950 and it helped the Blue and Orange to a 196.525-195.550 victory over No. 19 Iowa State.
The senior's win on floor was her first of the season, giving her two wins during the 2024 campaign. She has 12 career event wins, including three on floor.
A native of Elk Grove, Calif., Blackson also earned Mountain West Floor Specialist of the Week honors for her efforts. It was her third weekly conference honor of the season and 11th of her career. Blackson is the third Bronco gymnast to garner Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week honors this season, as teammates Emma Loyim (Jan. 17) and Emily Lopez (Jan. 24) were selected previously.
On Friday, Feb. 9, Boise State travels to Southern Utah for a nonconference dual. The Broncos and Thunderbirds compete at 7 p.m. in Cedar City, Utah.
