
Ernstberger Named Mountain West Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Pauline Ernstberger has been named the Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.

The senior earned the honor for her performance against No. 21 Washington (Feb. 2), claiming a victory in doubles and singles. At the No. 2 doubles position, Ernstberger and partner Shauna Heffernan defeated Sarah-Maude Fortin and Erika Matsuda 6-1.

Ernstberger then faced 2023 All-Pac-12 second team honoree Erika Matsuda in singles on court one, rallying back and winning in a tiebreak set 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (6).

This marks the first MW weekly award for the women's tennis team this season and the third of Ernstberger's career, with the last two being in 2021.

The Broncos will return to action with a home match against College of Idaho, Friday, Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. MT in Boas Indoor Tennis Center.
