3/27/2024 2:35:00 PM | General, Women's Gymnastics
BOISE, Idaho – Emma Loyim, a junior on the Boise State gymnastics team, has been named the Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
Loyim collected two individual victories on beam (9.950) and floor (9.900) at the inaugural Mountain West Championship on March 23 in Logan, Utah, where the Broncos were named the 2024 MW Gymnastics Champions. She became the ninth Bronco to win multiple conference crowns in the same season, and her 9.950 on beam matched the program record for highest score on the apparatus at a conference championship.
The junior's win on beam was her second this season, while her victory on floor was her third. She has nine career event wins, including four on both beam and floor.
A native of Mountain Lakes, N.J., Loyim was named to the MW Floor First Team and MW Beam Second Team. This marked her first career all-conference first team award and second-straight year being named to an all-conference second team for beam.
The Broncos will face BYU in a dual at the Fayetteville regional site, April 3, after qualifying for the 16th-straight year. Individually, Loyim qualified for regionals on beam and floor.
