Jones comes to the Treasure Valley from Vanderbilt
BOISE, Idaho – Spencer Danielson announced the addition of Brandon Jones to the Boise State football program Wednesday.
Â
Jones, who spent the past five years at Vanderbilt, joins the Broncos as the program's General Manager. In his role, he will help oversee roster development and will play an integral role in recruiting and scouting.
Â
He spent the past three seasons as the Director of Scouting at Vanderbilt. While in the Music City, he was responsible for evaluating high school and college evaluations nationwide, developing prioritized prospect watch lists and organized prospect camps.
Â
The two prior years, he was also at Vanderbilt as offensive quality control. Jones worked with the quarterbacks during the 2019 season and with the wide receivers during the 2020 COVID-shortened campaign, collaborating with offensive coordinators Gerry Gdowski (2019) and Todd Fitch (2020), as well as with wide receivers coach Tony Ball. He helped conduct national recruiting evaluations for all positions – primarily focusing his efforts in the midwestern states of Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin – and played a key role in recruiting the 29th-ranked class during the 2021 early signing period.
Â
Jones joined Vanderbilt after serving as a physical education assistant at Cumberland Academy of Georgia and completing an internship in the Green Bay Packers' scouting and personnel department during the summer of 2018.
Â
From 2015-17, Jones served as quarterback coach at Pace Academy (Ga.), where he helped the school to the program's first AA state championship.
Â
A native of Marietta, Georgia, Jones earned his undergraduate degree in recreation management from Ohio where he was a member of the Bobcats' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He was a three-year letterwinner at quarterback for the Bobcats. He earned his Master of Education degree in Learning, Diversity and Urban Studies from Vanderbilt in 2023.
