Courtney Blackson Collects Ford Student-Athlete of the Week Honor

BOISE, Idaho – Courtney Blackson, a senior on the Boise State gymnastics team, has been named the Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
Blackson scored a 9.925 on bars in the first semifinal at the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships, April 18.
The Elk Grove, Calif., native's performance was the highest bars score at nationals in program history. It tied the best score on any apparatus at nationals in program history, a mark Blackson set last season when she was the national runner-up on vault.
Blackson shared sixth-place with Arkansas' Reese Drotar, Georgia's Lily Smith, LSU's Haleigh Bryant, Utah's Ella Zirbes and Washington's Skylar Killough Wilhelm. Her top-eight performance in the first semifinal earned Blackson a spot on the WCGA All-America First Team for bars.
