Men's Hoops Adds All-American Javan Buchanan

BOISE, Idaho -- Boise State men's basketball has announced the addition of Javan Buchanan (Lafayette, Ind.) from Indiana Wesleyan. Buchanan is coming off a season in which he was named a NAIA All-American.

PRIOR CAREER
2023-2024 (Sophomore): Named to the NAIA All-American 1st Team ... Named to the All-Crossroads League 1st Team ... Recorded his 1,000th career point against Columbia (3/15) ... 4th in the NAIA with a 273 made field-goals ... 6th in the NAIA with 718 points ... Played and started in all 35 games for the Wildcats ... Scored a season-high 37 points against Tennessee Southern (3/16) ... Recorded four double-doubles on the year ... Scored in double digits in 32 games, with 15 being for 20+ ... Lead the team in points, rebounds, field goals, free throws, and minutes ... Ended the season with 718 points, 229 rebounds, 90 assists, 38 blocks, and 40 steals.

2022-2023 (Freshman): Named to the Crossroads League All-Freshman Team ... Played in 31 games making 24 starts ... Scored in double digits in 16 games, averaging 12.1 points per game ... Scored first points (8) against No. 25 Indiana Tech (10/29) ... Recorded first career double-double after scoring career-high 41 points and grabbing 11 rebounds against Spring Arbor (11/30) ... Named Crossroads League Player of the week after averaging 28.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in two wins against Spring Arbor (11/30) and No. 5 Marian (12/3) ... Ended the season with 376 points, 133 rebounds, 31 assists, and 22 steals.

HIGH SCHOOL: Had a stellar senior campaign, earning Indiana All-Star honors for his success on the court. Buchanan averaged 20.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.8 steals, 2.2 assists and 1.8 blocks per game for a Bronchos team that finished 21-5 in 2021-22. Buchanan tallied eight games with at least 25 and on two occasions poured in more than 30, including 31 during the IU Health Hoops Classic, a tournament he was named MVP in this past season. He finished the season shooting 51% from the floor and was named to the Indiana Large School All-State.
