BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's basketball head coach Gordy Presnell announced that Maggie Cornelius will join the coaching staff as a graduate assistant.

Cornelius is no stranger to the program, having spent the past three seasons as a team manager. She graduated from Boise State in May with an education degree.

"We're really excited to have Maggie join us as a graduate assistant," Presnell said. "She's done a wonderful job with us the last few years and I'm excited that she'll continue to be with us on our staff."

The Roseville, Calif., native was a three-sport athlete at Woodcreek High School, playing basketball, golf and softball. She joined the women's basketball team at Sierra College out of high school but transferred to Boise State after the season was canceled due to COVID-19.

Cornelius comes from a basketball-oriented family. Her father, Doug, has coached with the Sacramento Kings and Sacramento Monarchs and is currently the head men's basketball coach at Yuba College, where her brother, Cooper, plays. Her mother, Vicki, played basketball at UC Riverside.

"I'm very grateful to have the opportunity to come back and be a member of this program as a graduate assistant," Cornelius said. "I've enjoyed being with the team the past three seasons and I'm thankful that they've entrusted me in this position."
