
ITA Honors Women's Tennis Team for Academic Excellence

BOISE, Idaho – For the 10th-straight season the Boise State women's tennis program was named an All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the organization announced, Monday.

In addition, the recognition marks the 18th time over the last 19 seasons the program has earned the award. Boise State accumulated a 3.7 grade point average this past season.

Along with the team award, nine individual athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes for having a grade point average of at least 3.5. Joana Baptista, Ariadna Briones Ginesta, Ana Conde Vendrell, Nicole Discenza, Pauline Ernstberger, Shauna Heffernan, Ryan Kershner, Ella Piron, and Bhakti Shah all received recognition.

"What our team has been able to accomplish off the courts is just really impressive," said head coach Beck Roghaar. "It takes immense effort and dedication to compete at the highest levels on court and achieve this level of success academically at the same time. Success and development is part of our culture and we aim to prepare our team members for life. I love when we get to see they're on a great path forward."
