BOISE, Idaho – The Mountain West announced on Tuesday that 101 Boise State student-athletes were named to the Spring 2024 Academic All-Mountain West Team.
Four women's sport programs led the way, including women's track & field which had the most selections with 22, followed by softball with 15, gymnastics with 14, and women's basketball with 12. These sports were followed by men's track & field with nine, women's tennis and women's golf with seven, and men's tennis, men's golf and men's basketball with five.
With the help of the 101 spring academic honorees, Boise State's all-department spring semester GPA of 3.37 was the second-highest for a single semester – trailing only the 3.42 set during fall 2023. All 18 sport programs earned above a 3.0 GPA, whether semester or cumulative, during the spring.
Boise State student-athletes closed out the 2023-24 academic year with the highest cumulative grade-point average (GPA) in department history with a 3.42. Over half of Boise State's sports programs earned a new GPA record, whether cumulative or semester, during the school year, while women's golf (3.82), softball (3.57) and football (3.18) set all-time records for semester GPA.Â
