BOISE, Idaho – Boise State gymnastics head coach Tina Bird has signed a two-year contract extension, director of athletics Jeramiah Dickey announced, Thursday.
Â
The extension adds to the one year that remained on Bird's contract, keeping her with Boise State through the 2027 season.
Â
"I am so excited to continue leading the gymnastics program," Bird said. "Being a former Bronco student-athlete turned coach is a very special path and I love that I get to help my team achieve their hearts' desires."
Â
A seven-time conference coach of the year, Bird is entering her 18th season as either head coach or co-head coach of Boise State Gymnastics. In her reign, she has led the squad to ten team conference championships, including the 2024 inaugural Mountain West Championships.
Â
Bird helped coach ten athletes to 18 All-American honors, 49 individual conference championships and 110 first-team all-conference accolades at the helm of the program.
Â
The gymnastics team has also proven to be a force in the classroom under Bird, recording the highest grade-point average in the country among other gymnastics programs in 2015-16, 2017-18 and 2018-19.
Â
The Broncos are set to begin their season on Friday, January 10. Boise State will travel to Seattle for a meet hosted by Washington.
