Broncos to Compete at Gulf Coast Showcase

ESTERO, Fla. – Boise State women's basketball will make the trip to Florida for the Gulf Coast Showcase over the Thanksgiving weekend, bdG Sports announced, Friday. The three-day event takes place from Nov. 29-Dec. 1 at Hertz Arena.
The Broncos will open the tournament against Illinois State on Nov. 29 at 9 a.m. MT. The squad is paired on the same side of the bracket as High Point and West Virginia. The winners of Friday's game will play at 3 p.m. MT on Saturday, Nov. 30, with the losers playing at 9 a.m. MT.
The rest of the field includes Butler, New Mexico State, Santa Clara and Texas. Seven of the eight teams competing in the event advanced to postseason play a year ago, while six of the teams won over 20 games last season.
The contest against Illinois State will be the first showdown against the Redbirds in program history. The Broncos have faced two of the seven other tournament competitors before – they have faced Santa Clara (3-5 all-time) and New Mexico State (15-13 all-time).
Tickets will go on sale on Friday, Sept. 13 at www.GulfCoastShowcase.com. All games will be streamed on FloHoops.
Head coach Gordy Presnell returns all five starters from a Boise State squad that finished 21-14 and made an appearance in the Women's National Invitational Tournament a season ago.
Bronco fans can purchase season tickets by visiting BroncoSports.com/tickets, calling 208-426-4737 or in person at the Boise State Athletic Ticket Office. Single-game tickets will be available later in the fall.
