Gordy Presnell Extended Through 2028-29 Season

BOISE, Idaho – Legendary Boise State Women's Basketball Head Coach Gordy Presnell has agreed to a contract extension through the 2028-29 season, athletic director Jeramiah Dickey announced, Thursday.

"I'm so honored and humbled to continue to lead this great program," Presnell said. "I'm extremely appreciative of the incredible support of the Boise State administration and am blessed that I get to continue to represent Boise State well into the future."
With 764 career victories over an illustrious 38-year-career, Presnell currently boasts the fifth-most wins among all active Division I women's basketball head coaches. The winningest coach in program history with a 368-247 (59.8%) mark, Presnell has qualified for the NCAA National Tournament on six occasions (2007, 2015, 2017-20), and has led the Broncos to four regular-season titles and six conference tournament titles.
Under Presnell's watch, Boise State has won five Mountain West Tournament Championships, which is tied with New Mexico for the most in league history. The Broncos won four consecutive MW tournament titles from 2017-20, the only four-year championship run in league history.Â
Presnell's 20 MW Tournament wins are the second-most in league history, one shy of Don Flanagan's (1999-11) league-record of 21. Since Boise State joined the MW prior to the 2011-12 season, Presnell has garnered 258 wins, tied with Flanagan (New Mexico, 1999-2011) for the third-most in league history.
The 2018-19 MW Coach of the Year, Presnell has led the Broncos to eight 20+ win seasons during his tenure. Boise State has won 10+ conference games in nine of the past 10 seasons, the most of any team in the MW.
Boise State is currently 13-6 on the season, and will host Nevada in ExtraMile Arena on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. MT.
