Broncos in the NFL Playoffs: Divisional Round

BOISE, Idaho – Three former Boise State players will continue postseason action in the Divisional Round this weekend. On Saturday, John Bates and Jeremy McNichols will play for the Washington Commanders in a 6 p.m. showdown against the Detroit Lions. Khalil Shakir and the Buffalo Bills host the Baltimore Ravens at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday in a battle of division champions.
SATURDAY
Washington Commanders (John Bates, Jeremy McNichols) at Detroit Lions – FOX, 6 p.m.
Last Week: Bates started at tight end and played 48 total snaps while McNichols played 17 snaps in Washington's thrilling 23-20 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bates was the Commanders' highest-graded pass blocking tight end, earning a 74.0 from Pro Football Focus. McNichols had a 1-yard carry on Washington's final scoring drive of the first half, which ended with a 52-yard field goal. The win marked the franchise's first postseason win since a 17-10 win over the Buccaneers on Jan. 7, 2006.
SUNDAY
Buffalo Bills (Khalil Shakir) vs. Baltimore Ravens – CBS/Paramount+, 4:30 p.m.
Last Week: Shakir totaled 61 receiving yards on a team-high six receptions, catching all six targets in Buffalo's 31-7 win over the Denver Broncos. He forced four missed tackles, tied for the most among wide receivers in the Wild Card round. He also had 50 yards after catch, ranking third in his position group. The Boise State product also gained 30 yards on two punt returns, including a career-long 23-yard return that was the longest of the weekend. The Bills' victory marked the franchise's fifth-straight season advancing to the AFC Divisional Round.
