BOISE, Idaho – Three former Boise State Broncos will continue competing in the NFL Playoffs after helping their teams advance to Sunday's conference championship games. John Bates and Jeremy McNichols will lead the Washington Commanders into a road game against the Philadelphia Eagles at 1 p.m. The Eagles and Commanders split the regular season series at one game apiece. Khalil Shakir and the Buffalo Bills will head to Kansas City for a 4:30 p.m. showdown with the Chiefs.

This marks the first time both conference championships have featured Boise State products since Jan. 23, 2011. Daryn Colledge and Korey Hall led the Green Bay Packers to a 21-14 win over the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship while Kyle Wilson played for the New York Jets in their 24-19 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship.

SUNDAY
Washington Commanders (John Bates, Jeremy McNichols) at Philadelphia Eagles – FOX, 1 p.m.
Last Week: McNichols scored the first postseason touchdown of his career, powering through multiple defenders for a 1-yard rushing score that capped Washington's 45-31 win over the NFC's top-seeded Detroit Lions. On the Commanders' following drive, Bates notched a 20-yard reception on third down, matching his longest catch of the season and first of his postseason career. This is the first year Washington has reached the NFC Championship since 1991, when it won the Super Bowl.

Last Week: Shakir led the Bills in receptions for the second-straight week, catching six passes for a team-high 67 yards in Buffalo's 27-25 win over the Baltimore Ravens. He had a team-best 34-yard reception on the Bills' opening drive, which resulted in a touchdown. He also had at least one reception on three of Buffalo's other scoring drives, finishing the contest with 23 yards after catch and two first downs. The Boise State product has 12 receptions this postseason, tied for the most in the league. The Bills have advanced to the AFC Championship for the first time since 2020.
