Tatum Thompson Named Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the fifth time in school history, Boise State women's basketball has the preseason player of the year in its conference.

Tatum Thompson, a 6-foot-1 senior forward from Woodinville, Washington, received the honor from the Mountain West in advance of Thursday's media day in Las Vegas.

In three of the four previous instances, the Broncos went on to win a conference title and advance to the postseason. In the Mountain West's 2025-26 preseason poll, Boise State received a first place vote and was picked fourth.

Thompson was named to the MW All-Conference Team last year when she averaged a team-leading 13.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

She ranked 12th in the league in scoring and seventh in rebounding last season. Thompson recorded seven double-doubles and scored in double figures 24 times. In the conference championship quarterfinal against UNLV, she was 11-for-15 from the floor, tallied 25 points and pulled down eight rebounds.

Natalie Pasco, a 5-foot-10 senior guard from Danville, California, was named to the All-MW Preseason Team with Thompson.

Pasco averaged 12.5 points on 44.1% shooting a year ago. She scored in double figures 22 times and shot 41.1% from beyond the arc to lead the Mountain West.

In 2022-23, Pasco was named to the All-MW Freshman Team and she was an all-conference selection in 2023-24.

The Broncos open their season, Nov. 3 when they host Eastern Oregon at noon in ExtraMile Arena.
