Broncos Will Face UNLV in Third Straight Title Matchup

BOISE, Idaho – After finishing the regular season in a four-way tie for first place in the Mountain West standings alongside New Mexico, San Diego State and UNLV, computer rankings have determined that Boise State will host the 2025 MW Championship game against UNLV.

The Broncos and Rebels will kick off on Friday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. MT at Albertsons Stadium. The game will air nationally on FOX.

Boise State and UNLV will face off in the title game for the third consecutive season, with the Broncos coming off back-to-back championships. Boise State is looking to become the first team in MW history to claim three-straight conference crowns.

Boise State, New Mexico, San Diego State and UNLV all finished the regular season with a 6-2 record in conference play. Since all four teams did not face each other and no team was ranked in the College Football Playoff rankings, computer metrics (Connelly SP+, ESPN SOR, KPI and SportSource rankings) ranked the four programs, with the top two advancing to the championship game.

According to the computer rankings, UNLV finished with an average ranking of 45.5, while Boise State was at 47.75. San Diego State (51.0) and New Mexico (54.75) rounded out the rankings. The Broncos claimed hosting responsibilities due to their 56-31 victory over the Rebels on Oct. 18.
The 2025 title matchup will be the 13th iteration of the MW championship game. The Broncos have won six conference championships and have participated in the game nine times, both of which are the most of any team in the league. Boise State has participated in the championship game in eight of the last nine seasons. This will be the seventh championship game in Albertsons Stadium, with Boise State holding a 4-2 mark.

Friday's game will mark the 16th all-time matchup between the two programs. Boise State leads the all-time series 12-3, including a current 10-game winning streak. The Broncos boast an 8-0 all-time mark against the Rebels on The Blue.

Tickets for the 2025 Mountain West Championship will be on sale this morning. Football season ticket members can renew their same season seats here with a deadline of Tuesday at noon. All non-renewed seats will be released at that time for public sale. For further assistance, contact the BAA Ticket Office at 208-426-4737, or email ticketoffice@boisestate.edu.
