Broncos Add Five on National Signing Day

The 2025 newcomer class grew to 33 after Wednesday's Signing Day
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State added five to its 2025 newcomer class on National Signing Day on Wednesday, including three high school signees, an FBS transfer and a junior college transfer.

The newcomer class, which now totals 33, grew with Wednesday's five additions: running back Greg Ard, defensive lineman Bethel Imasuen, wide receiver Kamryn Jones, defensive lineman David Latu and defensive back Sherrod Smith. Ard, Imasuen and Jones are freshmen and Latu and Smith are transfers.

The entire 2025 newcomer class features 19 defensive players -- including nine defensive backs and eight along the defensive line -- 13 offensive players and one specialist.

Imasuen, originally from England, is the fifth international athlete in this year's newcomer class. Others include EDGE Bol Bol (Canada), defensive back Arthur de Boachie (The Netherlands), kicker/punter Roland Podesta (Australia) and offensive lineman Daniil Starykh.

Greg Ard, RB | Fr. | 5-10/190 | McKinney, Texas | McKinney North HS
The running back out of Texas was named conference player of the year and All-District 5-5A First Team this past season after totaling 2,028 all-purpose yards, including 1,747 on the ground. He also scored 25 touchdowns, 22 of which were rushing, two receiving and one kick return. He also ran track at McKinney North, competing in the 100 meters and 4x100 relay.

Bethel Imasuen, DL | Fr. | 6-4/265 | Reading, England/Acalanes HS
Imasuen is originally from Reading, England but played one year of high school football this past year at Alcalanes High School in Lafayette, Calif. He became a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports, after finishing the 2024 season with 77 tackles, 20.0 TFLs, 6.0 sacks, 12 quarterback hurries, three pass breakups and three blocked kicks. He also helped lead Acalanes to an appearance in the state playoffs.

Kamryn Jones, WR | Fr. | 6-2/180 | Temecula, Calif./Rancho Christian HS
A wide receiver out of Temecula, Calif., Jones is coming off a senior season at Rancho Christian High School where he had 899 yards and 10 touchdowns on 50 receptions. He was also a two-way player, playing defensive back in addition to his wideout responsibilities. He was named Most Outstanding Receiver at the All-American Bowl National Combine.

David Latu, DL | R-Jr. | 6-4/305 | Bountiful, Utah/BYU/Snow College/Brigham HS
Latu, a defensive lineman from Bountiful, Utah, is transferring to Boise State from BYU, where he played in 14 games across the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He arrived in Provo after being named an NJCAA Second Team All-American as a freshman while at Snow College in 2022.

Sherrod Smith, DB | So. | 6-1/185 | East Palo Alto, Calif./College of San Mateo/Menlo-Atherton HS
A rising sophomore from the junior college ranks, Smith was named All-Bay 6 Conference First Team this past season with College of San Mateo. He helped lead the team to a state championship and was tied for second in the conference with four interceptions. Out of Menlo-Atherton High School, Smith was a two-way player in his prep career as a running back and defensive back.
