BOISE, Idaho — Boise State dropped its regular season finale on Friday night, losing to Colorado State, 83-73.

The Broncos (22-9, 14-6 Mountain West) conclude the regular season 13-2 at home. Colorado State (22-9, 16-4 MW) extended its winning streak to seven games.

Andrew Meadow paced all Broncos with a team-high 22 points. He has scored 20 or more points in three of his last five games.

Alvaro Cardenas posted 18 points, six rebounds and eight assists in over 38 minutes of game action. Tyson Degenhart added 15 points and nine rebounds in the contest.

Nique Clifford poured in a game-high 36 points on 13-of-18 shooting. His 36 points were the most the Broncos have allowed to an opposing player this season.

Kyan Evans totaled 14 points in 34 minutes. Jalen Lake pitched in with 11.

Offense was plentiful at the outset as the two teams combined to shoot 7-for-16 and score 18 points upon reaching the first media timeout. Boise State scored the initial four points of the game, but the Rams responded by tallying 11 of the next 14 to lead by two possessions early on.

Trailing by seven with 11:06 to play in the half, the Broncos embarked on a 12-0 run to recapture the lead. Cardenas, Degenhart and Meadow tallied the 12 consecutive points which forced a prompt timeout by Colorado State.

Following the stoppage, the Rams embarked on a 7-0 spurt of their own to jump back in front, 25-23. Exchanging blows in the opening 20 minutes, the half featured four ties and seven lead changes.

Holding the ball for the final shot of the period, Emmanuel Ugbo collected an offensive rebound and putback as time expired. It tied the game at 34, representing just the second time this season Boise State has been even with its opponent at the intermission.

Collectively, Colorado State shot a blistering 60.8 percent (14-23 FGs) from the field, while the Broncos made 13 of their 29 shots (44.8 percent) in the frame. Clifford and Cardenas were the only two players to score in double figures, totaling 13 and 10 points, respectively.

To start the second half, Boise State scored 10 of the first 12 points. The Broncos' run turned a 34-34 tie into an eight-point advantage for the Blue and Orange.

Meadow had a strong start to the half, scoring nine of the team's 13 points to open the period. Boise State led by nine points on a couple occasions, but was unable to push it to double figures.

With 6:23 left to play in the game, Colorado State completely erased the Broncos' lead. Evans poured in a three-point jumper which broke a 62-62 tie.

Evans' jumper ultimately served as the final go-ahead basket in the game. Boise State kept the deficit to single digits until the last 17 seconds when the Rams iced the game at the free throw line.

Over the final six-plus minutes, Colorado State outscored the Broncos 21-11. The Rams shot 57 percent en route to handing Boise State its ninth loss of the season.

With the regular season in the rearview mirror, the Broncos will have a few days off before traveling to Las Vegas for the Mountain West tournament. Slated as the No. 5 seed, Boise State is scheduled to play San Diego State on Thursday.
