
Eight Broncos Named to NFF Hampshire Honor Society

BOISE, Idaho – Eight members of the Boise State football team were named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, the organization announced. Michael Callahan, Tyler Crowe, Jonah Dalmas, Ahmed Hassanein, Cooper Jones, Alexander Teubner, Luke Voorhees and Tavion Woodard were recognized for their efforts on the field and in the classroom. This is the most the Broncos have placed on the list since 2017, when they had 11, and the second-highest total in program history.
Callahan, who was also included in the Hampshire Honor Society in 2024, played in all 14 games for the Broncos. He totaled 19 tackles, 1.5 sacks and one pass breakup for a defense that led the country in sacks (55). He also blocked a field goal. The defensive tackle, who is pursuing his MBA, is a three-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection, four-time Mountain West Scholar-Athlete and five-time Academic All-MW pick.
Crowe is also pursuing his MBA and has been named Academic All-MW and MW Scholar-Athlete five times. In 2024, he ran for three touchdowns, including a bruising 8-yard score to put the Broncos on the board in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl. The fullback recorded 168 all-purpose yards while blocking for an offense that ranked fifth in the country in scoring (37.3 ppg). Crowe is a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection and was nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy in 2023.
Dalmas graduated with a degree in communications after one of the most prolific kicking careers in college football history. He finished his five-year career with a school and MW-record 508 points, the fourth-most in FBS history. His 93 career field goals rank third in FBS history and his 86.1 field goal percentage is 10th all-time. He made 65 PAT in 2024, most in the conference and third-most in the country. The five-time All-MW selection is also a four-time Academic All-MW pick.
Hassanein is set to receive his degree in interdisciplinary studies after one of the best pass-rushing careers in program history. He ranks fourth in school history with 24 sacks, tallying 9.5 in 2024, second-most on a team that led the nation with 55 sacks. The captain was a two-time All-MW first team pick and earned All-America honors in 2024. He was also a finalist for the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year award. In 2023, he was named CSC Academic All-America, adding to a list of accomplishments that include four Academic All-MW selections and two MW Scholar-Athlete awards.Â
Jones joined the Broncos in 2024 after spending four seasons with Utah State. He earned Academic All-MW honors twice in his career as he pursued a degree in education. The wide receiver served as Boise State's primary punt returner, totaling 89 yards on 16 returns. He had a season-long 22-yard return at No. 7/6 Oregon. His second-longest return came in the Fiesta Bowl, scampering for 19 yards against No. 6 Penn State.
Teubner, who earned a degree in finance, is also a two-time member of the Hampshire Honor Society. The safety finished his career with 195 tackles, 8.5 TFLs, 2.0 sacks, two interceptions, 12 pass breakups, three forced fumbles and three fumbles recovered. The captain is a two-time All-MW honoree and was named Defensive MVP of the 2023 MW Championship. He was a Campbell Trophy semifinalist in 2024 and secured three CSC Academic All-District nods, as well as five Academic All-MW and MW Scholar-Athlete honors.
Voorhees received a degree in entrepreneurial management and earned the Boise State Athletics Academic Excellence award, given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA in their graduating class. The tight end saw action in all 14 games for the Broncos, playing on offense and special teams. He is a three-time MW Scholar-Athlete, two-time Academic All-MW selection and 2024 CSC Academic All-District pick. He will return to The Blue in 2025 for his redshirt senior season.
Woodard transferred to Boise State from Ball State, playing in 12 games for the Broncos. He contributed on defense and special teams, playing EDGE and blocking on field goals and PAT. The sixth year totaled five tackles, including four solo. He posted a pair of tackles in the 62-30 win over Utah State. Woodard, who majors in Interdisciplinary Studies, was an Academic All-MW selection.
Members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must be senior players who will graduate in the spring or summer 2025 and have completed their final year of playing eligibility in 2024, or graduate players who have been enrolled at least three years. A student-athlete must have attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale) and been a starter or significant contributor throughout the 2024 season. This year, a record 2,532 players from 339 institutions were recognized.
