BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's basketball announced the addition of Emily Howard to the program on Friday.

A 6-5 center, Howard joins the Broncos after playing the last three seasons for Liberty. Last season, she appeared in seven games for the Flames before getting injured, averaging 7.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. She also shot 58.3% from the floor and 90.9% from the free throw line. She scored in double figures in three games, including in contests against Grand Canyon and Tennessee.

"We are very excited about Emily joining our program," head coach Gordy Presnell said. "She will provide post presence, athleticism and size to our team. She had a lot of other opportunities and we're excited she chose to become a Bronco."

Howard, who will have two years of eligibility remaining, played a total of 54 games for the Flames, shooting 57.4% from the floor after averaging 3.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.

"I'm super excited for this new journey to become a Bronco," Howard said. "I love how much the coaches believe in me and how connected I was to the team right away. It really made me feel like this was the right place to take my game to the next level. I can't wait to go to work and give my all in everything I do at Boise State."

Howard is a native of Vancouver, B.C., Canada and concluded her high school career at Harding Academy (Tenn.), where she was named the district player of the year as a junior.
