COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the third time this season, Boise State has earned both Mountain West Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors. Zdena Safarova was named the MW Player of the Week, while Maya Dutta was recognized as the MW Freshman of the Week.

The Broncos have now collected nine weekly awards this season, four more than any other MW school.

Safarova earned her third player of the week award of the season after an undefeated weekend. She becomes the first Bronco in program history to win three player of the week awards in a single season, and joins Dutta and former Bronco Pauline Ernstberger as the only players with at least three career weekly honors.

This marks Dutta's sixth MW weekly award and fifth freshman of the week honor. She earned the recognition for the second consecutive week and has now tied Fresno State's Matilde Magrini (2022) for the conference record for most by a player in a single season.

Dutta and Safarova began their weekend as a duo in No. 1 singles, where they defeated Silvia Maria Costache and Marlene Foerster, helping the Broncos take a 1-0 lead against No. 55 Nevada.

The five-time MW Freshman of the Week then posted a commanding 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 2 position, followed by Safarova's 6-1, 7-5 win over Amahee Charrier at No. 1, leading Boise State to a 4-0 victory.

The Broncos will look to continue their strong play with two matches this weekend: first against Colorado State at 6 p.m. MT on April 4, followed by a match against Wyoming at 11 a.m. on April 6.
