BOISE, Idaho - After a decade of serving as General Counsel for Boise State University, Matt Wilde will join Boise State Athletics as the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Legal Affairs & Governance/Senior Counsel for Athletics, the athletic department announced on Tuesday.

In the newly created role, Wilde will manage legal affairs for the entire athletic department, review contracts and agreements, assist the recently-launched BroncoPRO department, and serve as an advisor to all strategic initiatives. He will also be a member of the Leadership Team.

Wilde joined Boise State's Office of General Counsel (OGC) in 2013 as Deputy General Counsel and has served as General Counsel since 2015 during a period of dramatic growth for the University.

"Matt has been a tremendous partner to us over the years, and his expertise has helped us navigate the constantly changing landscape of college athletics," said Jeramiah Dickey, Boise State Director of Athletics. "With him in our foxhole, we've been able to make strategic decisions that improve the experience of all of our student-athletes, coaches and staff. We appreciate him joining our TEAM as he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as we continue to embrace What's Next!"

"College athletics is being reshaped by the week and Boise State Athletics is a recognized national leader in adapting to that change. Jeramiah and his team have boundless energy and an innovation mindset, so I'm very excited to join Athletics, even as I continue to work across campus with my OGC colleagues and University leadership," said Wilde.

Prior to joining Boise State in 2013, Wilde provided legal counsel for nearly 17 years through the City of Boise's Attorney's Office to municipal leaders, including the Mayor and City Council. At the City, he represented several departments, including the Boise Airport and Public Works department, the Police and Fire Departments, Planning and Zoning Commission, and others. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for First Tee Idaho and the Garden City Planning and Zoning Commission.

Originally from Billings, Montana, Wilde attended Pacific Lutheran University, where he earned his degree in Business Administration and was a track student-athlete. He went on to earn his law degree from the University of Idaho College of Law.
