Broncos Add Sterling Lane II

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State has announced the signing of transfer EDGE Sterling Lane II, who spent three seasons at Arizona. Lane will join as a redshirt junior with two years of eligibility remaining. He totaled 33 tackles in 20 games with the Wildcats.

In 2024, Lane played all 12 games and recorded 25 tackles, including nine solo. He posted a solo tackle for loss and four quarterback hurries while scoring a 70-yard touchdown on a fumble recovery. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Lane appeared in three games in 2023. In 2022, he saw action in five games on the defensive line. In those contests, he notched eight tackles, including four solo and 0.5 TFLs.

Lane was a four-star recruit and 29th-ranked player from California, according to 247Sports. He was a two-way player at Oaks Christian HS, seeing time at defensive end and tight end. In two seasons, he registered 116 tackles, including 75 solo. He tallied 31.0 TFLs and 13.0 sacks while adding 33 quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
