BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's basketball has signed Jayda Lewis, head coach Gordy Presnell announced on Wednesday.

Lewis, a 5-10 guard, was a four-year starter at Garfield High School in Seattle, Wash., leading the Bulldogs to three Washington 3A state championships during her career. She was named first team all-state as a senior and earned second-team all-conference honors her last two seasons. Lewis also earned her league's defensive player of the year honors last season.

"We are really excited for Jayda to join our roster," Presnell said. "She's an extremely high-character kid that leaves it all out there every time she steps on the court. She also plays both sides of the ball at a high level. We're extremely excited to welcome her to the program."

A multi-sport athlete, Lewis claimed a third-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles at the Washington Track & Field State Tournament this past weekend. As a freshman, she won a pair of state championships as part of the Bulldogs' 4x200 meter and 4x400 meter relay team.
