Hutton Featured on Patrick Mannelly Award Watch List

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State long snapper Mason Hutton was named to the Patrick Mannelly Award Watch List, the organization announced. The award is presented annually to the best FBS long snapper. Hutton is the first player in program history to earn a spot on the preseason watch list. He is one of 30 players on the watch list and one of two student-athletes from the Mountain West, the other being Fresno State's Wesley Brown.
Hutton has been Boise State's primary long snapper since 2022, appearing in 42 games. The redshirt senior was tabbed Preseason All-MW First Team by Phil Steele. Last season, he led all MW long snappers with 133 snaps, contributing to a special teams unit that was successful on all 65 PAT attempts. In 2023, he totaled four tackles, including a pair of solo stops at Fresno State, while handling snapping duties for James Ferguson-Reynolds, who led the FBS in punting average (49.7). In 2022, he snapped for kicker Jonah Dalmas, who ranked fifth in the country with 23 field goals.
Ten semifinalists for the award will be picked Monday, November 17. Three finalists will be selected Monday, December 1. The seventh winner of the Patrick Mannelly Award will be announced at a live ceremony in Lake Bluff, Illinois, Saturday, December 13.
