
Broncos Finish Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational Tied for Sixth

USAFA, Colo. — Collectively shooting an 857 (-7), Boise State men's golf concluded the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in a sixth-place tie with Utah Tech.

After totaling a 293 (+5) on Day 1, the Broncos ended the tournament with a 283 (-5) and 281 (-7) on the second and third round, respectively. The team rose six spots from the end of the opening 18 holes and were 12-under across the final 36.

Capturing his second-consecutive top-10 finish to start the season, Cole Rueck shot 7-under (73-68-68) and tied for fifth. Shooting under par in five of his six rounds this season, Rueck now has 12 top-10 finishes in his career, one behind Luke Sestero (13) for fifth most on the program's all-time list.

Rising 25 spots over the final 18 holes, Reese Knox captured his second top-25 placement of his career. He carded a 68 (-4) on Day 3 and was tied for 18th with a total score of 214.

Gavyn Knight had a strong showing in Round 1, shooting a 69. He posted a 72 (even) and 75 (+3) to finish the invitational T-28th.

Competing as an individual, Chase Gorder set a personal best with a 209 (-7). He also set a single-round best with a 69 on Day 2, surpassing his previous high of 70, which was set on two previous occasions.

The Broncos return to action on Sept. 29 in the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational. The two-day tournament takes place in Boulder, Colorado, at Colorado National.
