BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's tennis head coach Beck Roghaar announced the addition of former student-athlete Bhakti Shah as an assistant coach for the 2026 season. The program also promoted current assistant coach Shauna Heffernan.
Heffernan, who joined the staff ahead of the 2025-26 season, will continue with her current duties while assuming the responsibilities previously held by Errol Smith. She was a key contributor to Boise State's historic 2025 spring season, serving as the primary coach for the clinching point in the Mountain West Tournament semifinal and final, as well as the NCAA First Round. A former Bronco, Heffernan concluded her playing career (2021-24) as a four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and MW Scholar-Athlete.
Shah returns to Boise State after graduating and completing her playing career in 2025. A native of Hyderabad, India, Shah was an integral part of the Broncos' postseason run during her senior season, primarily competing at No. 3 singles and No. 3 doubles. She received the Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award in 2025, becoming the third Boise State student-athlete to earn the honor.
Shah finished her career as a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, three-time MW Scholar-Athlete and an Academic All-MW selection. Her name appears multiple times in the program's record book, including a tie for the 10th-most career wins at No. 3 singles (10).
