BOISE, Idaho – Jabril Frazier has been elevated to run game coordinator, head coach Spencer Danielson announced on Thursday.
Frazier adds the title on top of serving as the EDGE coach, a role he has held since 2023. In his Bronco career as both a coach and student-athlete, he has been a part of five Boise State conference championships. He won two as a player in 2014 and 2017 and has been the EDGE coach for the past three Mountain West titles. Last August, he was one of 30 countries across the country named to 247Sports 30Under30 2025 coaching list.Â
Â
Last season, Frazier played a part in a defense that forced 23 turnovers, good for third in the conference and 21st in the nation. The Broncos were also third among MW teams in total defense (337.6 yards per game). He played a big role in Boise State leading the nation with 55 total sacks in 2024. The Broncos also recorded 111 tackles for loss in 2024, a number that was good for seventh in the country.
Â
As the EDGE coach, Frazier was a key component in the development of all-conference rushers Ahmed Hassanein and Jayden Virgin-Morgan. Hassanein, a first-team honoree in 2023 and 2024, ranked sixth in the country with 12.5 sacks as a junior before tying for 16th with 9.5 sacks as a senior. Virgin-Morgan totaled 10.0 sacks as a redshirt sophomore in 2024, which was tied for 14th in the country. This last season, Virgin-Morgan was named second team all-conference after notching 56 tackles, 13.0 tackles for loss, 6.0 sacks and a pair of forced fumbles.
Â
A two-time All-Mountain West honoree, including a first-team selection as a redshirt senior in 2018, Frazier made 28 starts in his four years with the Broncos as a STUD. He recorded 18 career sacks among his 24.5 tackles for loss.
Frazier notched four tackles (three solo) and one pass break up in a victory over Fresno State in the 2017 Mountain West Championship. He averaged over five tackles per game during his last six contests of his senior season.
Â
Following his Boise State career, he signed a free agent contract and took part in training camp with the New York Jets in 2019.
