BOISE, Idaho – Boise State gymnast Miraya Nero was tabbed Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Week, the conference announced. Nero tied for the highest event score among MW freshmen, posting a 9.825 on beam as part of her all-around victory at BYU. With the win, she became the first Boise State freshman to capture an all-around crown since Courtney McGregor, who did so against Utah State on Feb. 17, 2017.

In addition to her 9.825 on beam, which tied her for second on the apparatus, Nero tallied a season-high 9.775 on vault and bars. She notched a 9.700 on floor to finish with an all-around score of 39.075, winning the title by 0.025 over BYU junior Ava Jorgensen. This marked the first event title of her career and the first by a Boise State gymnast this season.

A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Nero is the first Bronco to win an all-around title since Feb. 5, 2022, when Hope Masiado secured the crown at BYU. Nero's score of 39.075 is the program's highest since Masiado notched a 39.175 against Utah State on Feb. 13, 2021. She is the first Bronco to secure a MW weekly award this season.
