BOISE, Idaho – Miraya Nero and Kristina Shchennikova were named Mountain West Co-Beam Specialists of the Week and Nero added MW Co-Freshman of the Week honors as Boise State picked up three accolades from the conference. Both gymnasts scored 9.900 on beam at the Metroplex Challenge on Feb. 15, leading the Broncos to a season-high 49.125 team score.

This marks Nero's second and third-career MW weekly accolades, with the first coming Jan. 20, when she was crowned MW Co-Freshman of the Week after posting a 9.825 on beam. Shchennikova is being recognized for the first time this season and ninth time in her career, most on the team. This is the fourth Beam Specialist of the Week award of her career, with the last coming March 18, 2025, when she also secured Freshman of the Week honors following a 9.875 performance at home. That was also the last week the Broncos had multiple gymnasts selected, with Shchennikova being joined by Emily Lopez (vault and bars) and Julia Melchert (floor).

Sunday marked Boise State's first meet with multiple beam scores of 9.900 or higher since the 2024 Mountain West Championships, Lopez, Emma Loyim and Adriana Popp did so. Nero added a 9.850 on vault to tie for second at the meet, notching Boise State's highest score of the year on the apparatus. Shchennikova was the team's top scorer on bars (9.800) and made her collegiate debut on floor (9.675). They are the only two Broncos to compete in three or more events this season.
