Cole Rueck Named Mountain West Golfer of the Week

Senior golfer earns weekly honor for first time in career
BOISE, Idaho — Boise State senior golfer Cole Rueck was named Mountain West Golfer of the Week, the conference announced on Thursday.

Garnering the distinction for the first time in his collegiate career, Rueck is the eighth golfer in program history to take home the weekly accolade. Luke Cushman, Rueck's current teammate, is the last Bronco to win Mountain West Golfer of the Week (April 10, 2025).

In the team's first spring tournament, Rueck collected his second individual championship of the season, and eighth of his career. Leading Boise State to its second team tournament win of the 2025-26 season, Rueck carded a 200 (-16) and won the event outright by four strokes.

Competing in the Lake Las Vegas Invitational for the second-straight year, Rueck shot under par all three days. He posted a 69 on Day 1 and followed that performance with a career-low 64 in Round 2 and a 67 on the final 18 holes.

This season, Rueck has posted top-10 finishes in five of the team's six tournaments. For his career, he has 15, tying him with Troy Merritt for the second most in team annals.

Boise State will return to action on March 9-10 in the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational. Taking place in Aiken, S.C., the event will be held at Palmetto Golf Club.
