BOISE, Idaho – Boise State earned a 75-59 victory over Utah State, Saturday afternoon.

Boise State (23-7, 14-5 Mountain West) closed out its home season with 15 wins at ExtraMile Arena, while Utah State (6-22, 2-17) dropped its 16th-straight game.

Utah State won the tip and struck first with a Karyn Sanford layup. Josee Steadman answered just nine seconds later with a layup to spark an 8-0 Boise State run. She buried a 3-pointer and Dani Bayes followed with one of her own to cap the surge. Elise Livingston and Macie Brown each drove to the rim for layups to pull the Aggies within two, before Tatum Thompson grabbed her first points of the night with a layup.

Boise State endured a two and a half minute scoring drought, but Bayes ended it with a triple at the 2:50 mark. Utah State went cold as well, going scoreless for four and a half minutes until Rachel Wilson knocked down two free throws to begin a 6-0 run. Aitana Rosello Lopez and Jamisyn Heaton each scored to trim the deficit and Boise State held a 13-12 lead after the first quarter.

The second quarter opened with two made free throws from Tatum Thompson. Wilson followed with a layup and Utah State took a 16-15 lead on another Sanford layup with 9:11 left in the quarter. Mya Hansen drilled a 3-pointer to put the Broncos back in front. Gayles answered with two free throws to tie it at 18-18, then knocked down a three to give the Aggies a 21-18 edge.

Natalie Pasco recorded her first points with a jumper at the 5:59 mark. Rosello Lopez ended a two minute Aggie scoring drought with a pair of free throws and Livingston buried a triple to extend Utah State's lead to 26-20, the largest of the night. Tatum Thompson responded with a jumper and a layup to keep Boise State within reach. Gayles sank one free throw to maintain a three-point Aggie advantage, but Thompson added another layup before Libby Hutton scored as time expired. Boise State carried a narrow 28-27 lead into halftime.

Gayles opened the second half with a jumper to reclaim a 29-28 lead for Utah State. Livingston and Hansen traded triples before Thompson converted an and-one jumper to tie the game at 34-34. Pasco knocked down a three to briefly give Boise State the lead, but Wilson drove to the basket to put Utah State back in front, 38-37.

The Broncos then took control with a 14-0 run, starting with a Hutton layup. During the stretch, Bayes connected on two threes, while Hutton and Howard each added a layup. Gayles closed the quarter with a jumper, but Boise State held a 51-44 advantage into the final period.

Tatum Thompson opened the fourth quarter with a jumper to spark a 9-0 run and Bayes added her fifth 3-pointer of the night during the surge. Rosello Lopez scored the Aggies' first points of the quarter at the 7:24 mark and Livingston followed with a layup. Tatum Thompson answered with another jumper, but Livingston hit a three and Gayles added a jumper to keep Utah State within reach. But, Dani (Bayes) hit those big shots for us and it really helped, plus Mya (Hansen) was really solid. I am happy for the team and the seniors. It's been a good home season, that's for sure."
