BOISE, Idaho – Boise State football products George Holani and DeMarcus Lawrence will lead the Seattle Seahawks into Super Bowl LX, aiming to become the second pair of former Broncos to win a Super Bowl as active teammates. The NFC champions will face the New England Patriots on Sunday, Feb. 8 in Santa Clara, California. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. MT on NBC and Peacock.

Holani and Lawrence helped Seattle capture its first conference crown since the 2014 season, defeating the Los Angeles Rams, 31-27. Holani played for the first time since Nov. 23, matching his career-high with 31 scrimmage yards, including a career-best three receptions for 27 yards. The second-year running back played a career-high 23 offensive snaps in his NFL postseason debut. Lawrence continued his defensive tear, posting a solo sack and forcing a fumble while finishing with two tackles. He is the fourth player since 2001 to force three fumbles in a single postseason and is tied for the league lead with six forced fumbles across the regular season and postseason.

The win over the Rams marked the Seahawks' 16th of the season, matching the 2013 squad for the franchise record. That team defeated the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII, 43-8, the organization's lone championship win. Sunday will mark Seattle's fourth appearance in a Super Bowl. This year will be a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX in 2015, when the Patriots won, 28-24.

Lawrence finished the 2025 regular season with 53 total tackles, including six sacks and 11 TFLs. He forced three fumbles and recovered three more, returning two for touchdowns. He earned the fifth Pro Bowl selection of his career, the most of any former Boise State player. In his 12-year career, the defensive end has compiled 24 forced fumbles and 67.5 sacks across 157 games. Holani totaled 475 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in 11 games played, adding three tackles on special teams. In 16 career games, he has 484 all-purpose yards and four tackles, playing 210 total snaps.

Sunday's showdown will be the first Super Bowl appearance for either player, but both have competed against the Patriots during their NFL careers. Lawrence played New England three times as a member of the Dallas Cowboys, totaling seven tackles and a pair of TFLs. Holani made his NFL debut against the Patriots, playing six special teams snaps in a 23-20 overtime victory on Sept. 15, 2024.

Both players are among Boise State's record-holders in career and single-season categories. Holani ranks sixth in program history in career rushing yards (3,596) and attempts (685) while ranking seventh in yards per game (74.9) and 100-yard games (14). He was the 2019 Mountain West Freshman of the Year and earned All-MW Second Team honors twice. Lawrence tallied 20.5 TFLs in 2013, tying for ninth in program single-season history. He added 10.5 sacks that season, also tying for ninth. He is also tied for ninth in career sacks, totaling 20.0 in his two years at Boise State. He was named All-MW First Team both seasons and earned Walter Camp All-America Second Team honors in 2013.

With a win, Holani and Lawrence will become the 11th and 12th Boise State products to win a Super Bowl as players. Donte Deayon was the last Boise State alumnus to earn a Super Bowl ring, doing so with the Rams in 2022. He was on the active roster for Super Bowl LVI, but did not play any snaps. The last former Bronco to play in a Super Bowl was running back Jay Ajayi, who won Super Bowl LII with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018. The only Boise State products to win a Super Bowl as teammates are offensive lineman Daryn Colledge and fullback Korey Hall, who were Super Bowl XLV champions with the Green Bay Packers in 2011. Offensive linemen Ryan Clady and Matt Paradis were teammates with the Denver Broncos in 2014, but only Paradis was active for the Super Bowl 50 victory.
