Broncos guard earns collegiate weekly honor for second time in his career

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State guard Dylan Andrews has been named the Old Trapper Mountain West Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 2-8, the conference announced on Monday.

The Broncos are the fourth Mountain West team this season to have two players garner the weekly distinction. Andrews and Drew Fielder, who was awarded the accolade on Dec. 15, 2025, are the first pair of Boise State teammates to take home the honor in the same season since Chandler Hutchison and Paris Austin did so in 2016-17.

Andrews is the seventh Broncos guard to be named Mountain West Player of the Week. He joins Drew Wiley Jr., Derrick Marks, Anthony Drmic (listed as G/F), Derrick Alston, Max Rice, Hutchison and Austin as the only Boise State guards to accomplish the feat.

Earning his second-career player of the week honor—and first in the Mountain West—Andrews was instrumental in a pair of Boise State victories against Nevada (Feb. 3) at home and New Mexico (Feb. 7) on the road. In those contests, he averaged 29.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists, while shooting 61.5 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from three.

Recording 20+ points in back-to-back games for just the third time in four collegiate seasons, Andrews led all Mountain West players with 58 total points. That number served as the largest of any two-game stretch in his career.

Against Nevada, Andrews registered a team-high 25 points and added three rebounds and six assists. Scoring his 1,000th career point in that game, Andrews knocked down a go-head, step-back three in overtime, giving Boise State the lead for good.

On Feb. 7 at New Mexico, Andrews poured in a game-high 33 points, signifying a career high. He made a season-high nine field goals, tied his season best with five 3-pointers and went 10-for-10 at the free throw line.

Starting all 24 games in his first season as a Bronco, Andrews is averaging 12.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He has accumulated 295 points this year, his second-highest total in a single season, trailing only his 2023-24 campaign when he tallied 412 points at UCLA.
