Forward joins the Broncos from Alabama State
BOISE, Idaho — Boise State men's basketball has agreed to terms and signed forward Jerquarius Stanback, it was announced on Thursday.

Stanback joins the Broncos after spending two seasons (2024-26) at Alabama State. After redshirting his freshman year, Stanback started all 32 games played for the Hornets a season ago and averaged 8.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 2.0 blocks while shooting 52.2 percent from the field.

Among all men's basketball student-athletes last season, Stanback was 1-of-6 players in the country—and the only one in the Southwest Athletic Conference—to average at least eight points, five rebounds, one steal and two blocks. Collecting a conference-high 65 blocks and 34 steals, Stanback was named the 2025-26 SWAC Defensive Player of the Year.

During his prep career, Stanback played at Asheboro (N.C.) High School, where he earned back-to-back player of the year awards. He averaged 25 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and four blocks during his high school career, and was a three-time North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) all-conference selection and District Player of the Year.
