Boise State Student-Athletes Set Epic Academic Records

Broncos secure the highest single-semester and cumulative GPA in department history
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Athletics continued to raise the standard of academic excellence during the 2026 spring semester as Bronco student-athletes combined to earn a 3.48 single-semester grade point average (GPA) and a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Both are the highest marks in department history.
The record-setting achievement reflects a department-wide commitment to supporting student-athletes in every aspect of their collegiate experience, uniting coaches, academic advisors, support staff, and administrators around a shared culture centered on success in the classroom and beyond.
"Congratulations to our student-athletes, academic advisors, coaches and staff who continue to embrace and strengthen our culture of academic excellence," said Gabe Rosenvall, Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Academic Services. "These accomplishments are the result of an entire department working together to support our student-athletes and challenge them to reach their full potential. Bronco student-athletes understand their athletic ability can open doors, but it is their academic performance that creates lasting opportunities and prepares them for life after sports."
Boise State's commitment to academic success was reflected across every program during the spring semester. All 18 sport programs maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher, with 88 percent of Bronco student-athletes earning a 3.0 GPA or better, another all-time school record. In addition, 201 student-athletes were named to the Dean's List.
Several programs also achieved historic academic milestones of their own. Football and soccer each established new program records for both single-semester and cumulative GPAs. Softball matched its program record for single-semester GPA and set a new cumulative GPA mark, while women's track & field also achieved a new cumulative GPA record.
